Daniel Bowen grew up in St Kilda, in a family that didn’t have a car. He joined the PTUA in the late 1980s, joined the committee and became newsletter editor in 2001 and President in 2003.
Daniel eventually got his drivers licence and a car at the age of 27, and hopes one day that Melbourne’s public transport will be good enough that he doesn’t need it any more. In the meantime, he uses PT when it is practical, and recently bought a bicycle in the hope of using his car less and getting more exercise.
